Art District on Santa Fe Denver This
multicultural neighborhood, just minutes from downtown, features the
largest concentration of art galleries in Denver. The galleries in the
district are dedicated to promoting public awareness of Santa Fe Drive
as a unique art and cultural district, and furthering the arts and art
education in the Denver metropolitan community. Link
Air Force
Academy The Academy is currently open to visitors take exit
156B from I-25 just north of Colorado Springs proper. Areas open to
visitors are the Academy Chapel, The field House, Arnold Hall and the
Honor Court.
Buffalo Herd Nature Preserve
Buffalo Herd Located 20 miles west of Denver at I-70 Exit 250. The
city of Denver maintains a herd of buffalo in a natural setting. The
buffalo are direct descendants of the last wild buffalo herd left in
America. Excellent photo opportunities.
Butterfly Pavilion At the
Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster, they have more adventures than you can imagine.
Explore the tropical rainforest where over 1,200 butterflies flutter
around you. Hold a friendly tarantula in the palm of your hand.

It's where science, fun and education come together.
Carter Lake is located southwest of
Loveland against the foothills. The lake is about 25 miles south of Ft
Collins. The lake is 1,100 acre reservoir surrounded by 1,000 acres of
public lands. It is a popular spot for sailing, camping, swimming and water
skiing.
Cave of the Winds Located 6 miles West of
Colorado Springs on Highway 24. Open all year. One of the best caving
tours in America. Three levels of cave tours offered. 100,000 of
thousands people have seen and experienced this cave.
Celestial Seasonings The
largest manufacturer of specialty hot teas in the U.S. Their mission
to create and sell healthful naturally oriented products that nurture both
body and soul. Free tours. Boulder/Niwot
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Founded in
1926 by Spencer Penrose to house his collection of exotic animals. In
1938 in was made into a public trust and zoo for the residents of
Colorado Springs. Zoo is on the side of Cheyenne Mountain with
great views of the city.
Colorado State University
Experimental and Display Garden. Located on College Ave and Lake St. This
block square garden is planted every Spring. From then until late fall this
is one of the most spectacular flower displays in the nation.
Denver Botanic Gardens Denver Botanic
Gardens has been a favorite Denver destination for 50 years. Art and
science unite in the gardens’ spectacular 23-acre site, offering an
unforgettable experience for the whole family, as well as a living
laboratory for education and plant conservation programs. Open 9 a.m.
to 5 p.m. with extended summer hours.
Denver Ocean Journey Aquarium This
world-class aquarium immerses visitors on two journeys, from the
Continental Divide in Colorado to Mexico's Sea of Cortez, the other
from an Indonesian rain forest to the Pacific Ocean. From Colorado's
state fish, the greenback cutthroat trout, to swimming Sumatran
tigers, visitors experience a variety of fish, mammals and birds that
all rely upon water.

Colorado's only hands on science and technology center with 130
incredible interactive exhibits.
Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Durango
was founded by the Denver & Rio Grande Railway in 1879. The railroad
arrived in Durango on August 5, 1881 and construction on the line to
Silverton began in the fall of the same year. By July of 1882
(amazingly, only 9 months after construction began) the tracks to
Silverton were completed, and the train began hauling both freight and
passengers. You can relive the past and ride this same scenic
route today. It is a great trip
Forney Museum of Transportation. 4303 Brighton
Blvd Denver. Anything on wheels. Many unique exhibits. Attraction is about a
45 minute drive south of Ft Collins.
Fort Vasquez
Museum. 13412 Highway 85 south of the city of Platteville. Go back into
history and visit an 1835 fur trading fort. This adobe fort and outpost
employed such trappers as Baptiste Charbonneau and Jim Beckwourth both
featured in the movie Centennial. The fort owners Louis Vasquez and
Andrew Sublette were among the first settlers and permanent traders
along the South Platte Basin.
Great Sand Dunes
National Park & Preserve Colorado's newest National Park is located in the San Luis
Valley of southern Colorado on the west side of Laveta Pass. Here you will
find North America's highest sand dunes rising over 750 feet in height. The
area contains over 30 square miles of sand dunes.

theater show “How Did Those Red Rocks Gets There?” Nature talks and

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science
is the Rocky Mountain region’s leading resource for informal science
education. A variety of exhibitions, programs, and activities help
Museum visitors experience the natural wonders of Colorado, Earth,
and the universe.
Golden Triangle Arts District Within
walking distance of downtown Denver this unique neighborhood is
Denver’s center for art & culture. The area includes the Denver Art
Museum, Denver Public Library, U.S. Mint, Colorado History Museum,
Byers-Evans House, the Colorado Ballet, Ballet Arts Theatre, Acoma
Center & Curious Theatre Company & over 50 galleries, artist’s
studios, fine restaurants & specialty stores.
Heritage Square A unique cross between a
shopping village and an amusement park. Located on the western edge of
Denver near I-70 and Colfax Ave.. It features ann alpine slide,
go-carts, fishing streams, miniature golf an Historic Train fun
restaurants and many small unique shops.

Horsetooth Reservoir. Just West of Ft.
Collins behind the first ridge of foothills. 1900 acres of great boating and
fishing water. 2,000 acres of public land. Campgrounds. Near or around are
many trails and Horsetooth rock.
Manitou Cliff Dwellings Located West of
Colorado Springs on Highway 24, prehistoric Indians' ruins (1100 to
1300 A.D.) Museums displaying prehistoric artifacts. Retail stores.
Native American dance performances (June, July, August). Open year
round, closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.
North Pole Christmas theme amusement park
is a memory maker for family fun! The village features amusement rides
for all ages, gift shops, restaurants, magic shows and visitation
privileges with Santa himself! Ten miles west of Colorado Springs on
U.S. Highway 24.
Pikes Peak Cog Railway
The highest cog railway and train in the United States. Has been
operating for 114 years. Station in Manitou Springs. Winds it's way
to the top of 14,110 foot Pikes Peak. Trip lasts 3 Hours 10 minutes. It is well
worth the price of admission. Beautiful ride anytime of year.
Red Rocks. The naturally formed,
world-renowned outdoor Amphitheatre is located just fifteen miles west
of Denver and hosts top musical events throughout the summer season.
Red Rocks Park encompasses 818 acres and is open to hikers and
sightseers year-round. The Visitor Center features state-of-the-art
meeting facilities, a restaurant and lounge, and an amazing display
chronicling the Amphitheatre’s geologic evolution and entertainment
history.
Royal Gorge Route Railroad. Canyon City
Colorado. . Called "the most scenic railroad in America" This ride is a
breathtaking 2 hour trip through some of Colorado's most scenic country.
Rocky Mountain National Park. Located
southwest
of Ft. Collins Colorado. From Ft Collins go south to Loveland then west on US34 to Estes Park.
From Greeley go directly west on hwy 34. Open Year
around. Trail Ridge Road, Highest continues highway in US, Open Memorial Day
to Labor Day. Deer, Elk, moose, coyote, bear, cougar and big horn sheep. The
park is host to over 3 million visitors a year. At the entrance to the
park is the village of Estes Park a neat little mountain town.

Roxborough State Park The park is a
crown jewel among the Colorado State Parks. The 3,319-acre park
preserves the unparalleled scenic beauty of breathtaking sandstone
outcroppings known as the Fountain and Lyons Formations. These elegant
spires, sentinels and hogbacks rising abruptly on the Front Range are
silent remnants of Roxborough's 1.3 billion year march through
geologic time. Prehistoric man, Native Americans, trappers, ranchers
and miners left their own historic marks here, too. Roxborough is a
unique patchwork of delicate ecosystems providing a habitat for bears,
cougars, fox, coyotes, eagles, hawks, rattlers and more. Visitors are
encouraged to explore the park, open year-round, through hiking its
10.5 miles of day-use trails, observing wildlife and discovering their
individual secrets, photographing nature
