World Renown Bruce's Bar In Severance Colorado

In Late 2007 Bruce's Bar was finally closed. The new owners were being held to the new city building codes and they could not afford to remodel at this time.

Bruce's Bar In Severance Still Going Strong Even though Bruce passed away in late 2006 Bruce's Bar is still going strong.  The small town of Severance Colorado is the home of the now world famous Bruce's Bar where the Colorado delicacy of Rocky Mountain Oysters ("Bulls Testicles") are served. Severance is located about 15 minutes from Ft Collins.

From I-25 one turns east on Harmony road and travels about 15 miles to the main intersection, (only intersection) and there on the north west corner is Bruce's Bar.

1957 was the year the famed bar began it's legendary run which of course is still going on. The bar is now nearly 50 years old. It started when a broke and hungry individual decided enough was enough and bought the bar and agreed to make the hundred dollar payments until the bar was paid off. He paid a whooping $6,000 for the 20x20 bar which has undergone over 14 renovations and additions since then.

The famous dish which make bulls all over Northern Colorado and beyond break out crying was started in 1959. It was a big gamble under taking the serving of bull's balls ("Rocky Mountain Oysters") as ever day fare. A lot of people call Bruce crazy but nearly 50 years of success in one of the toughest businesses going proves otherwise.

Bruce's Bar has a real eclectic clientele and serves every one from bikers to families. Ever one is welcome and it is now a favorite watering hole and eating establishment for locals as well as those who travel from afar to try Bruce's.

Bruce's now sports a game room a dance band and dance floor. And it is said many a local has danced the night away so well that they  have  fallen in love here and gotten married, all because of this popular local establishment.

Bruce was an  avid hunter and decided a long time back to nick name the bar "Duck Hunters Headquarters" because of Weld County Colorado has a nation wide reputation as one of the best goose hunting areas in the US. Not only that Bruce has goose blinds for rent or lease and will clean the birds and has early morning breakfast hours too. He learned customer service early and it shows. Every year new hunters show up and the old veterans return year after year. Many local and national sports figures can be found here come hunting season.

If you chose to visit you can see the mural painted in 1979 by Marvin Norton a freelance artist who has many national clients. Everyone from all walks of life enjoy this place. Hundreds of Harley Davidson's can be found outside when there is a run in the area and college kids are sitting beside your doctor or other professional. Construction crews call this place home. You could I think,  call this eatery an All American Hang Out. Bruce's Bar of Severance is an experience everyone can enjoy.

The menu shows Bruce's serves steak, chicken, lobster, crab and of course the famous "Rocky Mountain Oysters". Rocky Mountain Oysters and fries are $6.50. A real treat  for those who like them are from 6pm to 9pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday is all you can eat for $7.00 per person.

Pay a visit to Bruce's Bar and give the guy a toast for coming up with one heck of an idea and turning it into an institution. Thanks Bruce.  I was there just days ago and it is still running full steam and nothing but his passing has changed. God Bless ya Bruce.
